The ECS regulates appetite, digestion, immune function, inflammation, mood, sleep, motor control, temperature, and pain.
Cannabinoids (like CBD and THC) work as neurotransmitters (chemical messengers that deliver information from one cell to the next) to regulate functions in the ECS. Clinical Endocannabinoid Deficiency is a term encompassing conditions related to dysregulation of the ECS. Common CECD conditions include Fibromyalgia, migraines, and IBS. Other treatment resistant conditions that are currently being researched and are showing potential include Alzheimer's, cardiovascular disease, neurological/neurodegenerative/neurodevelopmental illnesses, acute and chronic kidney disease, autoimmune disease, chronic inflammatory disease, and chronic pain.
